The pottery is open from Easter until the end of October, from 10 - 5 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

On Thursday mornings you can come and ‘throw your own’. Penny will glaze and fire your pot and, for a small extra charge, post it to you. It’s wise to book ahead during July and August to save a long wait.

Penny also runs weekend courses in the spring for those who want to get more completely immersed in the clay!

The workshop has three electric wheels and three small kilns, one gas and two electric.

We use red earthenware clay for throwing and modelling, and learn slip-trailing, pressing moulds, and explore an innovative use of colours and materials. Penny’s glaze colours reflect her surrounding landscape of blues and greens and browns. Over the two days a range of techniques and ideas is demonstrated to the group, which includes:
